Client

Purple Cow Agency is a marketing agency located in the Bay Area. They’re passionate about helping businesses stand out from the herd with inbound and content marketing.

The Situation

John Smulo, the owner, was looking for talented writers with vast knowledge about digital marketing to publish content for his agency’s blog.

The Challenge

Hiring a remote writer can be challenging due to the hassle of different time zones, lack of management and accountability that on-site work consists, and flaky personalities of creatives. The ideal writer is a self-starter who can perform research on target audiences, create several blog ideas and manage excellent content with little direction.

The Solution

I wrote marketing articles appealing to small business owners that increased engagement on social media. I took the initiative by working with marketing director, Melanie Benitez, to develop a 30+ page e-book about inbound marketing and ghost write SEO-friendly articles for clients. By communicating via email, we published long-form content that grew leads and satisfied clients. My impact went beyond submitting articles to becoming an important member of Purple Cow’s creative team.

Testimonials

John Smulo
I had the opportunity to work with Beth through my marketing agency Purple Cow Agency. In this fast paced environment, Beth took initiative, wrote great material, and was a pleasure to work with. Her work was articulate, well researched, and engaging. I highly recommend her to you.

Melanie Benitez
Beth is an extremely talented writer. She produced a lot of the content we used for Purple Cow Agency’s blog, advocating for the use of inbound and content marketing. She was also willing to do a lot of ghost writing for a variety of our clients, exploring her creativity and showing her initiative to work outside of her comfort zone. Beyond writing blog posts, she also developed longer forms of content, like eBooks. It’s never easy receiving direction virtually, but Beth always kept a professional attitude. She was great at communicating with us and providing her input when producing content – letting us know what she thought was best for the company. Beth is very knowledgeable about the subject of content marketing and has the talent and skill to apply that knowledge. I definitely would recommend her for your marketing and content needs!
